Fun Without Black Powder

We had a great time without the expense and risk of fireworks. We purchased glow sticks. We were going to have a game of glow bowling. I had saved large clear pop bottles and put a few glow sticks in each one. The boys loved them. They carried them like lanterns and tucked them in the foliage around the yard. We had large packing bubbles and they stomped on them on the driveway. We watched fireworks exploding in the heavens all around us. The boys discovered that Popie can walk on his hands. We even sang some songs...to which we heard the exclamation, "Top it guys." from Little T.
The glow bottle

Wow! He really is super.

Spot me

Wow! electric E is going to be great!

Moms love it also.

Not bad for free!

I forgot about glow Frisbee

Blankets and short chairs...all we need.

Jermiah showed the boys how to hold the glow sticks....funny, we are reminded of Wolverine and Freddie Kruger. (Please ignore the ghost of Little T)

Smokin' Hot

Thank You Pioneers. No really, a sincere heartfelt 'thank you' for all the sacrifices and lessons taught. Thank you for coming and making a beautiful place for me to live and be with my family. This post is a special thank you for a fun day.
Steve is a smokin' hot guy. He is getting into the smoking scene. We have some great guys in our neighborhood that are experts and we thank them for the hints. I suggested they form the West Bountiful 10th Gentleman's Smoking Club...Carter is so embarrassed,
Steve was in charge of the meat for our festivities. It was terrific.

Lighting the fire!

Pulled Pork sandwiches coming right up.

Spritzing with apple juice for moisture...yes, it's the good stuff.

Jeremiah was the corn chef

A feast! Loaded Baked Potato Salad, Acini Salad, Morgan's Green Salad, Corn, Chips,Fresh Fruit and Veggies
 (Lemon Cucumber season is here!)

The entertainment

Big D helps himself to the homemade ice cream- (Reaster Bunny flavored)

More guests, (Notice the new balcony chairs)

Grandparents were a welcome addition
The meal was just the first part of our fun. Watch for the fun coming soon.

Peep the Weepole- The Feasting

I should have taken pictures of Steve's ribs! (That is the second time I've lamented that oversight!) I guess I could have him pull up his shirt. hahaha
For being a simple day, it was a feast. Ribs, Marinda's baked potatoes (yummy), grape salad, watermelon etc. The best part was watching Big D. with watermelon. Then his mother left- I think to get a wipe for him, he found her plate and we all just watched as he claimed it. It was so cute to see him chawing on one of Popie's ribs. What shall we barbecue for the 24th?
Big D loves watermelon

The cousin's table

We the People Part One Appendage A

More parade,

I love that my family and friends have reverence for the symbol of so many selfless men and women that offer their lives to defend our rights, freedoms and choice to worship according to our conscience.

The candy scramble

Carter!!!!!

"Throw lots to me!"

Mike M in a pony tail?

Our very favorite Mike.

Santa relaxing in a chair. Steve got to help him make balloon animals at the park afterwards. (Steve held the jar for the tickets! Haha)

The most important part of the parade...the candy. Tomorrow- the dinner.

Happy Birthday America! Part One We the People

How old are you anyway? (I stopped counting after 200!) The ultimate party...a parade!

I was with the most entertaining people on the route. We had face painting, cheering and people begging pieces of floats. It was great! See part one-appendage A for more photos.

Lighting Up The Night

We enjoyed the 3rd of July. We had a great dinner on the patio with Jeremiah and his family, Morgan and her children and Lacey and Mark. We packed up our necessaries and headed to the park. It was pretty crowded when we arrived and as we walked around looking for a place to "plant" ourselves, we found the perfect spot. We were surrounded by some of our great neighbors. We watched a great show. I loved when Colton climbed up on my lap to watch. Tucker had a different experience. He buried his face in his mother's chest during the show. We enjoyed our walk home and looked forward to a great July 4th.
