Pet Peeves
I am discovering that I have many pet peeves. I guess I am peeved off too much. Have you noticed any of the things that drive me nuts? For one thing, I can't stand kids using pencil sharpeners. Ugh! I hide my sharpeners in my office so they can't use them. I also hate when anyone besides me is using a vacuum. The noise is annoying, although it doesn't bother me when I am cleaning. But I have some other very annoying pet peeves. If I had a contest Morgan would probably win as we have discussed the worst. Leave a comment if you know one of my pet peeves....or let me know one of your pet peeves. We can all have a good laugh at ourselves.

A Hair Raising Tale
This week, I am exploring Genre in the library with the students. To tone it down for the 1st and 2nd graders, I just concentrated on Fiction vs. Non Fiction. To illustrate the difference, I told two tales to them. One cold hard facts about trains. No story involved at all. The other I made a little more interesting. I told them how I was running late for work and only had 5 minutes to get to school. I go outside and my car won't start! I start to run down the street and lift my arms in the air and I start to fly! I fly over the houses and between trees...you get it right? Yesterday, a 2nd grader blurts out......
"Is that why your hair looks so awful"
It made my day. I guess I won't be using hot rollers on Wednesdays again!

Willard Carl Yohnson
I have my snowman: Willard Carl Yohnson. He has lived a good life. What could be better than spending your life making people smile and warming yourself in front of a fire. Thank you Willard!
Beginning stages of Willard. Yes, I moved his arms to a more 'shouldered' position. |
Getting a scarf |
Ahhhh! |
Willard's fire....it looks very mystical and warm at night. |
I tried to get a good night picture, but this was the best I could do. Can you see the glow? |
