I love
the movie"The Russians are Coming, The Russians are Coming". There is a phrase in it "emergency, emergency everyone one to get off from streets." What we do in an emergency? What if I had to 'get off from' my house? I have been prepared many times. At one point, our trailer was always ready to protect and comfort us in an emergency. I hope the emergency never comes, but I like to be prepared. We were
frighteningly under stocked up until a few weeks ago. Thanks to Carter who has an urge to get us all ready for anything.
We started to hold Family Night once more after a large hiatus, because, "I refuse to hold Mother Home Evening again". This time everyone is preparing and participating.
We came up with the idea to physically and spiritually prepare for any crisis.
We began with Carter giving all of us a space blanket and cereal bar. Then Kenny gave us sewing kits. I gave hygiene kits. Hayden gave everyone bottled water, oatmeal, more cereal bars and
cup of noodles. I can actually say that my DI backpack is full enough to give me some peace of mind. I even have my change of clothes in it!
I also love that we are working on being spiritually prepared for hard times....I think they are here. A different person takes the assignment each week and so far
everyone is really taking it seriously. I can't wait for my turn next week because I attended a sacrament meeting that fit everything together perfectly for me.
Why am I having these urges to prepare? It is something that we have tried to do all along. I hope we are doing it right!
