More Christmas Memories

Our Charlie Brown tree. It shows off the ornaments, was fresh and the price was right.

Carter sang in the season. sniff sniff. My last show choir child.

The ward party had an interesting visitor.

Hayden, C and T built a snow fort. It reigns supreme.

Construction guy.

Carter built me a snowman. I was so excited. I hate winter but love snowmen.

Hayden finished him up for me.

He was all cozy in front of his fire....he passed suddenly in the middle of the night.

Jeremiah and his family visited for Christmas. They seem happy and contented.

We met Jeremiah's new fiancee.

I couldn't resist adding this photo. Especially with the phrase on the sleeve.

Everyone enjoyed Peppermint Pleaser. A tradition. Big D loved it!

We enjoyed a visit from Grandma and Grandpa Johnson

I do have to say that I am glad Christmas is over. I really don't enjoy it. I have been pondering the reasons and hope to once again love the season. I do love the reason, the music, the family, the lights, etc. It's just so frustrating that my love is equated with how much money I can spend on a gift. I would love Christmas if it  was a rule that you got one gift totally from the heart. Sigh. I am making everyone's Christmas this year. (If I can afford it!)

Johnson Family Christmas Party 13

We had a festive Christmas party. My favorite was the Talent Show. It was even a little spontaneous with some of my  little ones. Even though I look horrible in the photos...I will share

Their duet was gorgeous.

This one is also a budding professional.

Big T as the Big man.

Little C was the favorite entertainment.
Me and My tooter

My E was so good to me. He was the only one that wanted to dress up. I think we look good.

Opening White Elephants...Big L was hard to capture in a photo!

Nuttin' For Christmas -although that is one GOOD boy.

Joy to the World

It was fantastic! My first lesson was this week. I wasn't really thrilled at first with my new calling, but I am in love with kids. I brought my scripture clothes and we had a wonderful time. We went on a journey  and discovered some shepherds. They fed us snacks and told us about the visit from an angel. We then went seeking the baby Jesus. These kids are so cute. I hope every lessons can be this fun!

Respecting My Elders

What a wonderful day Sunday! We attended a great Stake Conference. Afterwards, Steve got to do a 'first'. He ordained Hayden to be an Elder. It was a great day. We had the participants over for dinner afterwards. It was fun to see the kids.

A group of very powerful people
I  apologize to all the family that I neglected to inform.. It was just so fast.

Someone in this picture is 'sucking it in"
Who is it?

A Little Knowledge Could be a Dangerous Thing

Last Saturday was BHS' Christmas Dance. Friday night.....late....Carter came home and with horror admitted that he had forgotten to order a corsage for his best un-girlfriend. I know a little bit about making flower 'wear' for I told him I would try and save his bacon. It wasn't perfect, but I think it turned out okay. I made her a blingy bracelet and attached the flowers to it. I hope she wasn't too annoyed. Carter seemed thrilled with my efforts. It was fun... a little expensive, but fun to make.

Why didn't I take a close up of the corsage?

Grateful for a Wonderful Thanksgiving

I just realized that I hadn't posted about our Pioneer Thanksgiving. It was fabulous. The turkey was done by 11:00 ( and we were eating at 1:00). We  kept it warm in the Dutch oven ... It was so tender and moist. It took three of use to get it on the platter. It's been requested that we always cook our turkey that way. The corn bread was also marvelous. Maybe having the oven fritz out on us is a big blessing. I thoroughly enjoyed the boys in the house. Please note their after the meal activities. I loved the day.
The coals for the feast

Steve is so good at this

The main event
The best cornbread....ever
It took all three of us to get the bird out of the pot!

I wish I had this option once in a while.

Yes, we did have a miner smoldering incident while enjoying our ingenious meal prep.

Just One More Picture

Couldn't resist. He looks so cute in 'over-hauls'. We had a great time getting to know each other. I spent a few days teaching him that -
Grammy will hold you if you want...for as long as you want
Blow outs aren't fun......
Grammy loves to sing!
